April Lockhart is a born on July 4, 1995. As a seventh-grade student she began taking piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her passion for music writing. April Lockhart wrote her first single"Different" at 12 years old. At the age of 14, April devoted a great deal of time in making song lyrics and working on the music she was playing. In the following months, she started taking notes along with her father in LA in addition to NY. April started to incorporate other relevant topics into the Take my Hand song for some friends, such as peer-pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart is a popular figure and works as an online lifestyle blogger for the popular Ilia clean beauty brand. She has a disability that is a component of her personality, but it is not the whole picture. The profile of Lockhart on Instagram does not conceal her handicap, but it doesn't focus solely on the issue. The point? The message? That we are all multifaceted, and that our identity and physical self aren't as they seem. Lockhart stated in a video interview that she didn't want to be defined by her disability. She doesn't want to become a disability advocate who only talks about that. There are a variety of aspects to Lockhart. It doesn't impact my day-to-day life I do things normally, and I've discovered my own method of adjusting things. Since it's a an integral part of me It's a topic worthy of talking about. Her journey to self-acceptance is one that can last for a long time, and she is an inspiration for this purpose. However, she acknowledges going through phases with her body, at times, feeling insecure to wear certain types of clothing which showed off her arms. She wears what she likes and is proud to post pictures of herself wearing the clothes she chooses on social media. Self-love for her was an extended process. It's a journey, I'm not sure you'll ever get there. I think it is important to be surrounded by people who can really know the person you are.
